Guidelines:
Music
The church wedding ceremony is a form of worship and is therefore sacred in nature. The ceremony should reflect the sacred nature of the Holy Institution of Marriage. The music for the wedding and reception must be approved by the EPC Director of Weddings. Your music selection is to be turned into the Wedding Director three weeks prior to your wedding date for approval.
Musicians
The use of the church’s organ/keyboard must be cleared and approved by the Director of Weddings. Fees for musicians are determined by mutual consent and should be paid directly to such musicians and vocalists.
Attire
Appropriate dress is expected at your rehearsal, wedding and reception. In ceremony, we desire to be God-fearing and not frivolous. Dresses of the bride and bridesmaids should not be low-cut to expose cleavage and should not be sleeveless, backless, strapless or off the shoulder. If photos of the bride and groom are used as adults, they should not include those in shorts, shirtless or sleeveless clothing. The clothing in both the ceremony and any multi-media presentation should be modest to reflect the convictions set forth by scripture and EPC. EPC Director of Weddings must see and approve of Brides Dress and Bridesmaids dresses 3 weeks before wedding.
Personal Items
The EPC Director of Weddings will show you the available dressing rooms for the wedding party. Every effort will be made to protect personal items, such as wedding dresses, purses, wallets, etc..
However, the church cannot be held responsible for such items if lost, stolen or damage. The bride and/or groom and their wedding party should not leave valuables unattended in the dressing rooms.
Safety
No confetti, rice, fresh flower petals, or birdseed may be thrown inside the church buildings. No food or drinks are allowed in the sanctuary.
Photographs
This is a service of worship and flash photographs may not be taken in the sanctuary or chapel during the processional or the spoken service. Only time exposures are permitted during the ceremony. The wedding party may return after the ceremony for as many flash pictures as they wish. The ceremony is considered to begin with the seating of the mothers.
Videography
Contact EPC Director of Weddings before wedding date to discuss appropriate locations for videography equipment. The videographer should be well prepared to follow procedures. No supplementary lighting may be used. Wireless microphones may be used, but no wires or cable should leave the balcony area. Wireless microphones shall be turned off if they interfere with the churches sound system.
Florist/Floral and Decorations
EPC reserves the right to approve all florists and decorations. A time should be set with EPC Director of Weddings for decorating and delivery of any rental items, so that arrangements can be made to have the building open. EPC will not responsible for the correct delivery of rental items or set up of them including floral decorations.
The only greenery belonging to the church that may be moved is the greenery by the pulpit and will be moved by EPC personnel. All decorations must be appropriate and compliment the beauty of the sanctuary or chapel. Only drip-less candles are to be used, and all candles must be accompanied with a clear plastic protection for the floors or carpet. No wire, nails, tacks, staples, glue, floral adhesive or tape may be used to attach items to the pews, furniture doors, or walls. No carpentry work will be allowed within the building.
The bride/groom must notify the EPC Director of Weddings prior to the wedding as to who will be used for Clean-up. The personnel for clean-up must be on hand immediately following the ceremony/photographs for the removal of all decorations and replacement of furniture to their original positions before the wedding. All trash will need to be removed and thrown into appropriate trash bins.
